Xingchen is just out and about, trying to memorize the layout of this village so he can be as independent as possible, when that familiar voice calls out to him. And Lily is a friend, so why should he worry?

Except she is apparently worried and Xingchen cocks his head to the side. "Worried?" He knows he's made some unwise decisions lately, but he doesn't think they've been anything terribly worrisome. Then again, he's probably not the nest gauge for that sort of metric.

But he follows her where she leads all the same. "Has something happened somewhere else?"

Something doesn't quite sit right with what she says, though Xingchen still allows himself to be led to her so-called safe place. Lily cares about a certain number of people here, to be sure, but he doesn't think she's ever been this cautious. "If something could happen to put us in danger, as it so often does, should we not be ready to defend ourselves?"

Of course, it could be argued that hiding away is a form of defense, but it doesn't really match up with the Lily he knows. He remembers how she immediately sprang into action the day they met instead of running away.

Hearing Eleven mentioned catches his attention, as well. "Have you asked his opinion on this?"

Well, maybe Eleven would consider all that important. Xingchen wouldn't day they're the closest kf friends, but he does know the younger man believes in doing what's right.

How this translates into what Lily is doing, he's not sure.

He still goes along, though. "I take every day as it comes. We cannot worry about what we don't know will happen. Then we can't see anything good that comes our way."
